OpenSolaris No More (again)

After getting most everything up and running, I finally got a chance to "work" on the OpenSolaris machine. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed with the desktop performance--even with the zfs memory changes. The desktop became sluggish to me.

I can sleep well now knowing I gave OpenSolaris a good, fair comparison to Linux for what I needed. Linux ( OpenSuse 11.1 ) comes out on top as the winner for me in performance, routing/nat capabilities, device driver support and best overall server/workstation experience.

I totally agree with you! My biggest problem was packages and stability issue but i still can recommend Solaris 10 for workstation.
